On February 3rd, Cynthia Osbourne, Ph.D, Director of the Prenatal to 3 Policy Impact Center at Vanderbilt University briefed members of the Rhode Island House and Senate about how state Child Tax Credits help families with young children. A new state Child Tax Credit is being proposed by Governor Dan McKee in his FY 2027 budget ($325/child under 19) and also by Representative Teresa Tanzi and Senator Lammis Vargas ($650/child under 19).
